08/26 @HK
Free Wi-fi service at HK International airport!
Got off plane and passed through customs with ease.
Flight landed earlier than scheduled time
MC and TL picked me up after a little confusion of where I am
FTTHK campus is amazingly countryside!
A river (maybe more of a big pipeline of sewage) right next to it, the campus is in Shatin, the administrative center of the so-called New Territories, the section of HK that sits contiguously next to PRC. A seminary before, the campus is spacious (in the HK context) and keeps a number of guest rooms. 15 fulltimers labored profusely for the saints in HK and from PRC. Lord's Table was sweet, and college-aged ones and young professionals functioned quite impressively. Quality prophesying meeting afterwards.
Had a typical HK lunch at a "tea restaurant," where the food is cheap and service is meager. Quality not impressive, though. 23 HKD for mushroom & chicken rice, salty Russian soup and iced Cantonese tea (very strong! Good for a jet-leg...).
JC showed me the campus and scenes of CUHK, a major university in HK of which himself is an alumni. Campus on the mountains. Got to walk and hike every single day if studying here. Good for health though. The FTTHK is very close to CUHk, only two MTR stations away from it (<5 min by train). Dinner treated by MC and his family. A good one. Not expensive but typical HK style. Like it a lot. J helped me tremendously in the afternoon to find a digital recorder. Also I spent half of Sunday afternoon at his flat to surf internet, make Skype calls to family, and check emails. A tiny flat indeed, and he's gonna share it with 3 other students plus, of course, his wife! They want to convert it into a student center for CUHK saints. J is indeed a capable and enthusiastic full-timer. He's cut for this job. Though occasionally with a sneering attitude to people from mainland. Almost collapsed around 10 pm after all was finished off for the day. Went to bed immediately.
