September 19th. A big day for UC-Irvine. More than 2,200 fresh anteaters move in today. Campus is filled with anxious parents and excited freshmen who can't wait getting rid of parental protection and supervision.
I watched people from my office. Indistinguishable people, rushing here & there. Like ants whose heads were chopped off and went off without any sense of direction. I did the same thing 12 years ago. I shrewed back into the swivel chair, trying very hard to focus on reading. Reading nonsensical stuff all day.
This is my day, September 19 2004, right on the verge of the coming autumn.
